Medicare Part A covers the following:

  • INPATIENT CARE: Medicare covers up to 90 days of being admitted into a hospital by a physician each benefit period. Additionally, up to 60 lifetime reserve days are included. Inpatient care at an acute care hospital, critical access hospital, inpatient mental healthcare hospital, or an inpatient rehabilitation facility.
  • HOSPICE CARE: Hospice services is covered for as long as your medical provider certifies it is necessary.
  • HOME HEALTH CARE: Medicare Part A provides for some home health care services received in the hospital or immediately following an inpatient stay.
  • SKILLED NURSING FACILITY CARE: Post-hospital skilled nursing care, medical social services, physical threapy and health aid services are generally covered.
